We are an online resource for building, supporting, & encouraging creative businesses, founded by Jason Naylor.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Unfold enables users to provide information in various ways.

Staying Anonymous

You can browse the Website and/or watch video content anonymously (although cookies may be collected) however you will not be able to access our services anonymously.

Once you access our services, including for example by signing up for a paid or free lesson, entering a competition that we are running, requesting information from us, subscribing to our products and services, or applying for a coaching service, we will begin collecting your personal information in accordance with this policy.

Contact forms

Contact forms collect a variety of information, typically including Name, Email address, Business Website URL, and perhaps further personal or business information.

Online Courses

The online courses, including “12 Weeks to Wedding Photography Marketing Mastery”, “The Co.Lab (with James Day)”, and others, collect various personal and business information. This information is kept securely (see “Security” below), and may only be utilized for situations as outlined in “Use Of Data”.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on the Site.

You are responsible for keeping your password for My Account a secret. Never give your password to anyone, even someone claiming to be an owner, employee, independent contractor, agent, affiliate or related in any manner to Unfold.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

For users that enroll / purchase a Course, we also store the completed course results, which are retained indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Third Parties

Please be aware that some of our business partners may use cookies or other methods of tracking and targeting use on our site (advertisers, for example). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies and this Privacy Policy does not extend to such third parties.
